TF-Lab London was launched in July and re-opens a presence in the capital after 2 decades. This is a collaborative Landscape Architecture venture under the Terra Firma umbrella bringing together the skills of some of our most experienced colleagues who regularly work with us in freelance capacity and is primarily aimed at high end prestige projects. More about the new company and its key people can be found off our main website at www.tf-lab.co.uk. A soft and steady marketing strategy is already underway and Steve will be visiting our Dubai office and then India in September to progress this before a fuller launch this autumn.
Meanwhile Hampshire and Dubai have been nothing short of hectic over the summer still experiencing the busiest workload and span of projects the firm has ever seen. Projects varying from strategic capacity studies and EIAs, larger projects such as MIRA HQ and the West Yorks Police HQs PFI , hospitals, colleges, schools, industrial parks and plentiful housing projects are taking us the length and breadth of UK. Alshamsi Terra Firma are working on public parks,HQs, schools, villas and plentiful leisure developments including several high profile hotels throughout the Gulf region with many of its top architects. Now having operated in 27 countries spanning 6 continents, projects are now underway in Russia and Argentina from Petersfield while Dubai have added new ones in Ajerbaijan, Georgia, Iran and Turkey.
Somewhere in all of that the firm have managed to still make the most of the wonderful UK summer this year. Senior Associate Robyn having a well earned extended break to the Med, William and Steve pretty much joining us full time freelance for the period, Arborist Bernie hosting his incomparable summer barbecue, Isla announcing her engagement, all of losing money at Goodwood races…not to mention certain brushes with royalty with a visit to Maggies Swansea and then to Buckingham Palace as a guest of Hilliers for the Royal Warrant holders Jubillee expo. Time to catch a breath and go on holiday myself shortly and ask Alison to prepare the next blog. We’ve had a bit of a gap… but perhaps fitting space after the very sad news of the departing of Wiggers, our founder .
