Alex joined the company in March 2016 after returning to the mainland UK from the Channel Islands, where he lived and worked for almost two years. There, working as an estate worker he was able to live and work on a small, remote island three miles off the coast of Guernsey.
Prior to this Alex had been working in private practice in Essex with an established landscape architects. There he gained experience in the planning process, detailed planting schemes, graphic design and open space strategy documentation. Alex worked for a small domestic landscaping company where he was able to gain hands on experience working with plants and hard materials.
Since joining terra firma Consultancy Alex has worked on various types of projects which vary from a large scale technology park to small public squares. Alex’s daily tasks include landscape strategy plans, detailed construction drawings, LVIA’s and detailed planting plans. Many of the projects Alex has worked on have been delivering landscape schemes for school extensions on various scales.
He has also taken on the role of the CAD and KeySCAPE coordinator within the office, as well as developing the use of Revit on numerous projects.
Alex achieved Chartered status (CMLI) in 2019 through the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership.
