Working with Noviun Architects, terra firma developed the concept strategy for a new secondary free school and leisure centre set in Woking’s Green Belt. The proposals include a shared building housing the newly formed Hoe Valley School and also Woking Sportsbox, a new leisure facility. Extensive outdoor sports facilities are shared between the two facilities with two natural turf football pitches, two 3G football pitches, a MUGA and a national standard 400m synthetic surface running track, along with extensive shared car parking and a strong green infrastructure incorporating retained and new woodland areas, as well as an extensive SUDS scheme with swales and permeable surfaces. The scheme involved the preparation of landscape and visual impact assessments for an EIA and continued through to overseeing construction on site.
